htmlText_7D74AF74_6CD5_DDCE_41B4_F0DD6B530C15.html = In smaller teacher spaces the screen at the front of the room will allow you to show presentation and other teaching materials. These screens are touch screen and swiping you finger across the screen will allow you to move through a PowerPoint without the need to return to the computer. You can also make use of ‘Office Ink’ with the pens attached to the screen.
The Visualiser can started by pressing the Doc Cam button on the switcher box, when switched on the visualiser will take over one of the screens on the desk and the screen at the front of the class. It is important to note that this is separate to the PC and as such if you wish to capture/share the visualiser with Zoom participants you will need to select it as a camera in the Zoom meeting (USB HDMI Capture).
There may be occasions where you will use Zoom to deliver flexible teaching sessions.
In flexible teaching spaces you will see a second screen facing you, this screen can be used to show your zoom participants or your presentation notes.
These microphones are the default microphones for Panopto and Zoom capture.
1 microphone faces the teaching space and the other faces the class allowing capture of both.
In larger teaching spaces, you may also find lapel and handheld microphones these will work with the system to provide the best sound, in these larger rooms the student facing microphone can be muted via the switcher box.
These screens allow you to set up what shows on the larger screens at the front and back of the room – 1 screen will be mirrored on the front screen and the second will mirror on the screen at the back of the room.
Pressing the Windows button and P on the keyboard will allow you to switch between duplicate (where both screen show the same) to extended (where both act as separate screen) modes.
During a flexible teaching session, having the screens in extended mode allows you to show your zoom participants or your presentation notes to the back screen while showing you presentation/shared content on the front screen.
This allows you to turn the screen in the room on and off and switch between different sources including the visualiser.
Buttons explained:
PC = Lectern PC
LAPTOP = Anything connected to the USB C cable (You can connect new iPad's via the USB C cable or if using an older model iPad you can use an Apple adapter).
HDMI = Anything connected with the HDMI cable
DOC CAM = Visualiser
DP = Anything connected to the Display Port cable
Apples devices: If you are unsure of which adapter to use or purchase to connect your iPad or MacBook, please contact Service Desk who will put you in contact with the AV team who can advise.
This is a student-facing camera and can be selected in your Panopto or Zoom session by choosing the Microsoft LifeCam from the options.
This is the lecturer-facing camera of the class and can be selected in Panopto from the Primary Sources: video drop down list. You need to select USB Capture SDI.
You can also select this as a secondary source in Panopto.
If using Zoom for a flexible teaching session choose USB Capture SDI.
You can use one of these cables to connect your laptop or another device such as an iPad.
Apple devices without the latest USB-C cable will need an adapter. If you are unsure of which adapter to use or get to connect your ipad or MacBook please contact the Service Desk who will put you in contact with the AV team who can advise.
